Mako LTS thoughts?

Went to a few boat shows and a new boat seems to be out of reach. wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the Mako 18 LTS boats. Fits the bill for what I am after but don’t know anyone that actually has owned one. Any thoughts or better used boat I should consider

I’ve heard that most of the brands that have been bought up by White River Marine Group (Johnny Morris) have really taken a dip in quality since the acquisitions…I’d say do your due diligence and do some good hard research…

Post on the hull truth. IMHO there better made boats on the market. Seems that any boat line that Bass Pro picks ups goes in the toilet.

My Brother got one from Bass Pro about 8 years ago, boat rides good and he’s never had an issue with it. From what I understand the earlier Mako’s were prone to wood root and the newer one’s 98 up don’t have any wood.

Not quite the answer to your question, but look around for the older Sea Pro SV bay boats or the Key West Bay Reefs. Great bang for your buck even with a 2-stroke like in swap shop.

thanks

Just because a boat has no wood to rot, doesn’t mean that the floors and transom won’t delaminate.

The last one I looked over at Bass Pro was fairly unimpressive. Seemed cheaply made and the fit and finish was nothing to write home about. With so many other brands out there, I’d look elsewhere.

Fair enough. I’ve had a few boats with wood interior Transoms with no issues, but never had a wooden floor except for an old wooden john boat.

If on a budget and looking for a new boat the Maco would probably be one of the cheapest routes but as most here have stated not the best quality choice.

just looked at a sportsman and seems fit and finish is better… still may go a carolina skiff DLV… most what i do is protected water and i pick my days for big water
