I just got back from and awesome trip to the Maldives. This island chain stretches for hundreds of miles through the Indian Ocean. It consists of nearly 1200 reefs/atolls/islands. The amount of acreage for fishing is really staggering. We fished the northern section around the island of Hanimadoo. A typical run between spots was about 10 minutes and we would hop from reef to reef, fishing for an hour to up to 3 hours or so on the bigger reef sections. We typically aligned the boat on/near about 10 meters of water and you could cast deep or shallow from either side of the boat as the captain slowly motors along. Perfect weather and solid fishing has this trip ranking high on my list of recent adventures.
