Man-O-War flats suggestions?

heading to Man-O-War on Saturday for a week of bill fishing with my Dad. He is bringing his boat across from Jupiter.

Gonna pack my 8wt and try to find some flats holding the bones. Anybody been down there and could suggest a good flat or two to fish?

Will be on a 33’ contender so won’t be able to get shallow, but hoping to find a flat off a cut where I can jump off or somewhere I can walk to off Man-O-War…

Thanks!

looks like we wont be fishing much at all…they are forecasting 20 to 30kt winds the 4 days I’m there.

Sucks, same thing happened to us last month when we went to marsh harbor. 20 knots for 11 out of 14 days of the two weeks we were there.

Flats behind snake cay hold fish and you could possibly nose a 33 in there to wade. Wind will be blocked back there too

ended up finding a flat slightly in lee of the wind on Man-O-War. Hit it twice but didn’t see any fish. Flat was pretty small but saw lots of crabs and other life so figured they would show up sooner or later.

Finally got offshore, after the 35kt winds finally died down, and landed a white marlin and a 1/2 dozen gaffer dolphin.

my old man stayed home because the waves were 4-6ft and he is getting too old for that ****. He hit the flat and saw a dozen bones and landed one on the old faithful crazy charlie fly. Was happy for him.
