Left remleys at 6 am,very thick fog…visibility basically zero at time…slow trolled all the way out to the jetty entrance seeing others on the radar taking chances running fast…
hit the entrance and set our heading and start to run to our spots, nice ocean some big swells every once in awhile but really nice, cruising at 23-25 knots watching the radar(still thick fog).
get to our first spot fog had liftedabout 2-3 mile prior, set up our drift(no wind or current) and away we go the fish are hungry loosing baits very quickly, lots of small bsb's,then the bigger BSB's show up 15-18 inches, then a scamp shows up 22inches,wow this is going much better than the last 2 trips, well after getting our
share here i wanted to head a little deeper, out another 13 miles and we set up again, lots of triggers, porgies etc,the the ARS show up first 3-4 shorts, then we get 1 21 and a 22 inch, nice:smiley:!
decide to anchor and see if the ole grouper will bite today, well never could entice them, tried squid, cigar minnows, ballyhoo, and some live bait, just wasn’t going to happen here…even tried the jig:frowning_face:…
but the daymaker catch was not a keeper at all but a 5-6 foot tiger shark, what a beautiful creature,to bad he can kill you, tried to attack the baot a few times, very unhappy with me…what an awesome set of chompers on these things…
so back to our original spot to see if we can get a few more keepers,we do get somemore big BSB’s.call it a day and head in…
hit the harbor and see the fog is still here not as thick
Thanks to a great crew,Jr, Will and Evan…honorary mention to John Green even when sick delivered our free ice at 5:30am…you da man!
