can you swim 5 miles? “NO” then what is the difference in 5 miles and 50 miles!!! Go for it!
Fished on Relentlness last april 35 dolphin and 8 blackfin Paul runs a great boat.
Capt. Dave Schugar of Sweet Enuf Charters about of Marathon is a class act. Depending on when you’re down there he’ll fill the boat with dolphin and tuna offshore and then bring you back in to fill a cooler with black grouper and mutton snapper.
PM me if you need any more info.
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.

For what its worth, I would consider doing something you cannot do in SC while in the Keys.
Spend a few minutes looking thru the pics of most charter boats down there and you will see that the average offshore catch is a bunch of smallish dolphin. I would say on average the dolphin there run smaller than here unless you luck up on timing. A real good day is catching some football sized blackin as well. And maybe a small wahoo or 2. Alot of boats, alot of pressure, and a quick warmup this spring. The sails didn’t really show in large numbers for very long this year either…
Of course there are always exceptions, but IMHO, a 12-14 hour drive is a long ways for a bunch of peanut dolphin and bft’s that should be released…
On the other hand, the daytime sword bite has been pretty good, and snapper and tarpon are in abundance. Bonefish and permit, too…
