March Meeting Program 3/11 @ 7:00

Please join us Tuesday March 11th at the Flight Deck in Lexington as we welcome Jason Bettinger from the SC DNR who will be on hand to discuss the Clarks Hill striper tagging study he has been working on. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of the pump back stations at the top of the lake as well as the new oxygenation system on striped bass. I’ve seen some of this data and it is really interesting seeing how these fish move around the lake different times of the year.

If you remember, MSC helped DNR fund additional tagging of hybrids on Clarks Hill. Jason may have some information on that part of the study but it’s probably a little too early to have much on that end.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Are you guys going to be able to reschedule the February presentation on freelines??

Due to other previously scheduled programs, it will probably be in September or October. We could do it in the summer but I like to schedule programs that are relevant for that particular time of year. Hopefully people are able to take something they learned at the meeting and apply it on the water the next weekend. I look forward to what Donnie has to share with us this fall for sure!

For those who want to know where the diffusers are located on a map, here you go…

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

I went and got my magnifying glass and I still cannot read this chart. Is there a way to zoom?

Here is a link to the report that it came from Rick… I don’t know how to zoom the image without distortion…

Thanks Woody. Good article. Makes things a little easier to understand.
