Marco Island Florida in May

Anyone ever fish this area? We are debating between this or going further south to Key West. This is a trip for the wives to lay by the pool and sip on fruity drinks and the guys will get to fish for probably a day. Tarpon/snook on the fly are on my bucket list. Can I get that here in May or should I not bother?

Do they still do the goliath grouper charters here?

23, it looks like they still have Charters for them on Marco!

Just went on a trip down there this past Christmas, so I can not speak in particular about May. We went on a snapper/grouper trip and did ok. Plenty of fish caught, not many of any size. We had the most fun fishing the canal behind the house. Caught nice sheepshead, some jack, catfish and lady fish. Good luck on the Tarpon and snook.

Stayed for a week every year for 12 years end of May or first of June. Tons of snook in the surf, tarpon in the passes and tons of both in the backcountry. Jacks, mangroves, grouper, sheeps are all there too. Let me know where you are staying, if you are taking a boat and I can give you some places to start.
