Marco Island Florida

Anyone ever fish this area? We are debating between this or going further south to Key West. This is a trip for the wives to lay by the pool and sip on fruity drinks and the guys will get to fish for probably a day. Tarpon/snook on the fly are on my bucket list. Can I get that here in May or should I not bother? Do they still do the goliath grouper charters here?

I have been there a few times, but not in many years. I’ve got a good friend that just spent almost a year there on a work project. He took his boat and caught a lot of fish. I’ll send him an email with your question. Tarpon, snook, redfish and trout are the prime species, don’t know about goliaths there.

In May, consider Boca Grande for tarpon. Good place for the ladies on the beach, good fishing for tarpon and snook on the fly. Key West, not so much. It’s better for drinking than fishing
