hello, i’m helping out a friend whose father has taken a recent turn and he is having to move down here to charleston. Long story short i’m trying to take care of her fathers bass boat. the boat has the oil bath sealed type hub assemblies and one of the hubs has leaked all of the oil out. how easy is it to fix this type of assembly and refill? i am only familiar with the less fancy greased bearings. thanks
I haven’t had direct experience with the trailer hubs like you describe, but I would think the biggest difference would be maybe a double lip seal instead of a single lip seal on the rear of the hub and probably a O-ring seal on the cap of the hub. Otherwise everything else is probably the same.
