this could get really interesting…2 known great white sharks within a handful of miles of each other…they have to know the other is close, don’t you think?

So how do 2 Great White sharks, each caught and tagged off of Cape Code, manage to find each other (or almost find each other) in such a huge ocean?

^^^ Because there’s waaayyyy more of them out there than we think, more than likely. It would be interesting for Ocearch to come back and tag some more on this coast to get a better idea of the actual population and behavior.
Might have something to do with their, migration pattern?

She drove right past the end of the jetties, took a look at IOP Beach, probably rocked at the Jammer, got a few nibbles at Capers Reef and is back up to Bulls Bay. That is one fast fish.

"Then I had a conversation with Justin Weathers, who is from the Charleston, South Caroline, area. He is an avid fisherman, boat captain, and pilot. On Friday December 7th, Justin along with about 12 others saw a large fin appear on the surface in the Cooper River area. At the time, Justin was showing his boat to a potential purchaser. As soon as the fin appeared, he pulled back the throttle and completely stopped. According to the report the fin did not stay topside long. When Justin saw the fin the first thing he thought, Great white! However, he knew no one would believe himthat is until he spoke to a few of the old salts from the area. They told Justin, yes it very possible. Over the years these salty alders have seen many a great white up in the river feeding on dolphins and anything else that might suit their fancy. After hearing this information, the report was made. Now heres the thing that really makes this report so interesting. Justin reported that the fin, even though he only got a quick glance at it, had a very noticeable chunk out of it.
Jo O’Keefe emailed me to report that OCEARCH confirmed that Mary Lee does have a missing (very clean half circle) chunk possibly from a birth defect, breeding, or a tuna or something else."

Looking back one month, Mary Lee was pinged several miles off of IOP around lunch time and then south of Folly at 11pm. She didn’t ping inside the harbor (or the ping was removed).
