matzuo sea bear

Anyone try these for wahoo. 1/5th the cost of the Yo Zuris is hard to not consider.

never heard of it. where did u find that?

ebay, I just got two of the mahi colored. Hooks look rather lame so I may replace them.

I’ve tried some of matzuo’s other baits and have not been impressed. however have not tried or seen these… Atleast they look decent. Quality will probably be the issue

The big thing on hard baits like these is to make sure the connection points are wired through the bait. Nothing worse than a hook connection pulling out of the lure body.

Matzuo is a “price point” bait company (fresh or salt) so the first thing I would do is change/upgrade all hardware (hooks and split rings). Given they are price point, don’t get your hopes up on the longevity of the bait, especially when you’re talking about targeting big toothy saltwater critters.

In the future, where every stranger poses a potential threat, knowing the predator mindset is the only safe haven.

If it swims well then I’d try it. Loosing plenty of $50 marauders in the past few seasons sucks but they do get strikes. Those hooks look like crap so you need something that can stand up to a pair of bolt cutters. If the connection point is anchored in plastic and not through to the hooks then don’t bother. A good hoo will break that in a second.
