May 11

Headed straight and dropped lines inshore of the 380 on a green/blue color change. It was all the dolphin you could handle. Filled the fish box with good size fish and pulled the lines at 11:45. All three of us were worn out. Ocean was nice.

Man that was a fun trip. Its not often you can have the box full and heading home before lunch. Was funny to see the biggest fish of the day (26lbs) on a boga grip, had a fresh gaff hole from someone else through both sides of his noggin. Thanks again Henry.

I know where that fish with the hole in his head came from…
You should have seen the look on the guys face (the guy who caught the fish) when the Gaff man lost that fish.

Gaff man said, “I was trying to get him to calm down before I brought him in the boat”…

Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good… but I wanna see it.
Lights On!

nice going. we ran to the edisto banks yesterday, water was green and dirty. pushed offshore about 5 miles off the break and found that very distinct color change at about 250’. green to blue. kept about 20 dolphin and lost probably just as many (amateur gaff jobs and pulled hooks). dolphin are so thick right now. hopefully that means lots of billfish will be caught this season.
