Any chance for a Saturday meet-up in the future? Sunday’s are hard for me to make.
Sparkleberry should be some good bowfin territory
I want to see some pics if anyone hangs one of the toothy critters.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there’d be a shortage of fishing poles. ~Doug Larson
It was a very nice place…some motorboat traffic but not too bad. My son and I caught a number of bream, mostly little stumpknockers, and a lot of those redfin pike or pickerel.

Well, sorry I couldn’t make it. Or rather, chose to stay home and rest. But it’s a pain for me now, until my house in Fl. sells I’m living in a hotel and my yak is at a friend’s house 30 minutes away making it difficult to go on trips. Next weekend my wife will be here with my daughter, and I;ll be looking for a home with them. Yaaayyy! Hopefully, we’ll find something ready to move in, and I’ll have a new home soon.
Thanks to everyone that made it to the event this past weekend. I apologize that I was unable to get there earlier but getting home from work at 4am made it impossible to get there by 9:30. That area was absolutely beautiful!!! I saw gators, a ton of snakes, monster gar, carp, big flatheads, bald eagles, osprey, and countless other bird species. I didnt have much luck as far as the fishing went but the scenery more than made up for it. I ended up catching one pickerel, one small bass, and a monster bowfin. (10lbs ±) I was the biggest one I have ever seen. Sadly I was unable to get a picture of it because after it was done giving me a bath it broke through my net!!!
