Sparkleberry Landing
2898 Sparkleberry Landing Rd
Pinewood SC 29125
This is the meeting spot for the May 6th meet and fish…this location is a nice scenic area…when you first put in there is a cut in the trees…a narrow section through the trees that leads away from the landing…once out of that cut you come to a t-section…turn left and follow that alley until it opens up…across the opening at a 45 degree angle all of the way on the other side is a cut that is very well defind…once you follow that cut for a short distance you get into some thick cypress trees…thay are marked with paint follow that for a short distance and you come to a section where you can go straight or turn to the right…its better to continue on straight excellent fishing for Bass, Catfish, Bream and Crappie. Artificial lures of choice for largemouth bass: spinnerbaits, buzz baits, floating worms, jerkshad, square billed shallow running crankbaits such as the Manns 1-, the cypress trees have what you can call knees below the water surface so fish all around the trees, catfish will take spinnerbaits as they love to hang shallow in this area around the cyprees trees, there are alot of stumps under the water on the bottom so some sort of floating rig with cutbait will surely get a cats attention ( have caught 30-40 Lbs using this technique in this area), crappie fishing with minnows under a slip cork rig will surely catch crappie, bream love worms or crickets with worms usually works better. There are some really big Bass in this area, as always with most parts of Santee Cooper be on the watch for Gators!!! I am trying to trade shifts with someone at work so i can make this Meet and Fish. I know the area well, this is the area where i was featured in the March issue of SC Sportsman Magazine…hope to see yall there!!

Is it like swamp or open lake up their? I have the milkcrate setup on ky yak and don’t know if it’ll work with the trees
