Team Well Hung takes 1st place in the MSC May Tournament.
Midlands Striper Club held its monthly Lake Murray tournament in combination with the 2017 DNR Open Tournament out of Dreher Island, SC on May 20, 2017. Thirty-three teams participated in the MSC May Tournament. A total of 51 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 344.25 pounds with a 6.75-pound average. Twenty-five teams were able to bring a full two fish creel to the scales.
The MSC May Tournament results are as follows:
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 17.92 pounds was team Well Hung captained by Jason Tarlton from Saluda, SC, along with Brett McDowell, Chad Mims, and Jacob Black all from Saluda, SC.
Finishing in second place with a total weight of 17.46 pounds was team Trophy ridge captained by Danny Kimble from Clover, SC.
Finishing in third place with a total weight of 17.39 pounds was team Knot IV Shore captained by Wayne Condrey from Gaston, SC, along with Tom Hartman from Columbia, SC.
The Justin Christopher Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store went to team Knot IV Reel with a 9.94-pound striper.
Finishing in eleventh place with a total weight of 13.75 pounds was team Rocky Bottom.
Finishing in eighteenth place with a total weight of 11.57 pounds was team Gar-Heart.
Lady Angler Awards went to Lorraine Buckwell and Courtnee Love from team Next Time.
Youth Angler Award went to Spencer Nickle from team Even Kreel.
Smallest creel went to team Reel Determination with a total weight of 7.37 pounds.
The Palmetto State Armory Fishing Outpost prize went to team Reel Determination.
