Maybe you should

This is maybe just one step further than field stripping to clean. But nothing complicated. I pull the striker assembly out of my weapon a couple times a year.
It accumulates a little oil from cleaning which in turn attracts dirt.

I take my extractor out occasionally also it accumulates trash behind it.

Figured I’d give this guy a plug
Murph’s custom holsters. This holster is 6 or 7 years old… it’s been soaked from sweat rain salt water numerous times. As good as the day I got it. Met the guy at a gun show years ago.

I have several of his holsters every time I’ve ordered things from I’ve got it within 4 or 5 days.

I have a Murph’s, good stuff. It’s in the truck around a Barretta 9, my everyday grabber.

If you ever get a “forever gun”, one you really like and depend on, or has such special meaning that you aren’t ever selling, I might recommend a Milt Sparks holster. It is pretty much made to order gun specific, and you have to wait 4-6 months to get one, but I will absolutely give it my two thumbs up stamp of approvial.

Mines on custom Kimber 45. It’s not really an everyday carry, more of sunday go to meeting deal, or for most any type of social work you may desire.
