Anyone get out in Cowpens/ Muddy Bay after storm? Thinking about going out Thursday and giving it a try? Did okay out there a few weeks ago and hoping there may be some action a few days after the storm.
Also, has anyone tried deep holing around muddy bay in some of the deeper holes around it??
Thanks!
Were in Sun-Tues. Shrimped after coastal storms and they were slight but still a half cooler. This is waaay different. Were going anyway-got coastal fever!

Went out today. Perfect weather. Water color was very brown and was more clear than normal so I had my doubts. Went out to Cowpens and the numbers were as good as I have ever seen them, but the size was way smaller on average than 3 weeks ago. Probably 50% small, 40% medium and 10% large. 3 weeks ago the numbers were not great but they were over half large. I was regularly catching 30-40 in a cast and averaged 15-20. Was time limited so did not quite cooler and popping heads on smaller shrimp take forever! Needed another couple of runs to fill the cooler.
Only theory I have is the fresh water pushed the smaller shrimp out of the creeks. It did seem like the larger size and count were on the deeper poles so I’d suggest setting up deeper on average than you might do normally.
Hopefully the large shrimp will return but still fun to throw a net and watch dozens of shrimp splashing away and pulling in a net full. Great stuff!
