I’m on vacation this week at a house with a dock in mclellanville. I don’t know much about fishing in mclellanville. The only fish we’ve caught came from near dewees island(redfish). I know a few spots down near the isle of palms area but I don’t know anything about up here. Would I be better off fishing more towards the Charleston area or just keep trying here in mclellanville. Thanks for any input

Fish in the same types of areas there that you would in Charleston. Mclellanville has great red fishing. No reason to come to Charleston where there’s more people/traffic. Live baits around docks/structure on a float; you don’t need much more than that this time of year. Fish for 10-15 minutes, if no bites, move to another spot. Rinse and repeat until you find them. Once you find them biting in a certain spot, you should be able to find them the next day on similar tides.
