Well we managed to get out this past Saturday, all day, in the turkey woods with high hopes of dropping the hammer on the bird known as Mr. Tommy! Got into the woods, toting about 85 lbs of gear for all of us to sit tight all day, around 5:30 a.m. and had the blind up and the spread out by 6 a.m. down in a new hot spot in the Hellhole. The only problem was the high winds kept the birds not talking and more so praying that they didn’t fall out the tree with the dancing action of the tree tops. Put in great effort but left only with smiles and the same amount of unspent shells as when we arrived! The decoys almost got a lead sammich if they would have danced the wrong way since my oldest daughter (7) was the one with the gun! The youngest daughter (almost 5) said if that decoy eyeballed her one more time it would be on!
wonderful. These are memories that you will cherish forever.
