never used binder… would you know the meal/clay ratio for binder?
There is no ratio, all you do with bait binder is add water. I experimented with it some last year, and its all I use now. Use much less than you would your clay and meal mix. If you buy a 12lb bag, I would mix up about 1/4 of it per trip. Once you get a decent consistency, make up balls about the size of golf balls or small limes, and then press them flat. 1/4 bag should make between 30 and 40 balls. This is all you need! Bait lasts a good while, and is easy to clean up.
I have been three times and came real close to the limit each time. 5 runs is the most I have made on the poles. Used bait binder for the first time last sat. I put two bait balls on the first 5 poles and 4 bait balls of my regular meal and clay mixture like I always do on the last five. After 2 runs on the poles I caught a bait binder ball in the net and it wasn 1/4 of the size of when I put it in the water. Caught a meal and clay ball and it was over 3/4 of original size. Shrimp quit after water came up about 3 feet each time. Westbury’s ace in harleyville has meal for $40 and clay for $7. Want be buying Bait binder again. By the way I have been shrimping during the day. Will be there again tomorrow.

Never had that problem with bait binder,several hours in the water and mine have held up as well as any meal /clay mixture has.
