Meal vs Binder

I put binder on one side of the boat and meal on the other, and I put a small amount of oil in the mix. I couldn’t tell a differance between the two sides. However the binder is less work, and less stuff to carry, so when my meal is gone, I will switch to binder.

Good post. I did the same thing last year, except I was using Bait Binder and my buddy was using meal/clay and we had exactly the same results and were only 100yds apart in our sets. That sold it for me.

what about cost witch one is a better buy? i have used both and it seems that bait binder can get up there in price if your using a lot

working hard to pay hard

We baited poles with both last week and found not a lot of difference. Bait Binder is very easy to mix and seems to hold together very well.

Price the same amount of clay and meal vs bait binder and you decide which to go with.

Joshua, It has been my experience that I use WAY less baitbinder in the course of a weekend. ie, 2 patties per pole per day x a 3 day weekend trip. That uses up a 24.99 bag of binder. In the past we’d put 2-3 meal clay patties per pole, usually having to re-bait at least once. The clay/meal mix cost us $50 and $8 and would last 2 1/2 trips so the cost may be SLIGHTLY higher for binder, but for my $$ the less work, aggravation, mess, and results lead me to baitbinder hands down.
