Getting ready to cure+smoke some homemade bacon. I have heard that it is a real PITA to try and slice by hand, and I happen to have quite a bit that will be coming together at the same time, so I would rather use a slicer.
Does anyone have a good slicer they would recommend? Seems like all of them <300 bucks get bad reviews.
Also would be willing to trade some bacon for the use of a good slicer if it comes down to it
We have an OLD OLD OLD hand crank slicer that works rather well. We use it for deer meat slicing. It is old school though. Think I got it from my grandma, years ago. You are welcome to use it if you’d like. We’ll be heading your way Saturday morning. Feel free to call if you want it 803-807-0307 Charlie…
Most meat markets will not touch meat you bring to them due to chances of bacteria. A friend has the one from northern tool and loves it and it has worked great everytime we have used it.
Going to Church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
You are the offspring of 5 monkeys having But Secs with a retarded fish squirrel. CONGRADULATION!!!
I’m thinking jumbo shrimp, butterflied, stuffed with grated parmesan and chopped fresh basil, with a little evoo…Wrapped in bacon would go over well this morning…
matt ive got one at work you could borrow more than likely or you can bring it by one day after the season and we can slice it up. I also still have that fly tying stuff whenever you want to grab it.
hope the new boat is treating you well buddy. if you want to go throw some topwater one evening after work I’d be down.
Derek - will holler at you soon! Still getting over new boat anxiety, but will be settled in before too long and we will get out there and smash some fishes.
