Mechanic recommendations, Aiken Augusta area?

I know there are some other folks on here that live in the Aiken Augusta area. Does anybody have a recommendation for a mechanic around here to work on a '99 Johnson 90, carbed 60 degree motor. It’s mostly basic stuff. Bought a boat that has been sitting a while and need to do water pump, check out the shift shaft that’s really difficult to shift, and maybe carb kits.

Not worried about it being a dealer, I’m fine with a independent person. Especially if they’re more reasonable than $95 an hour.

If not, how about charleston? Anybody with some reasonable rates? Although leaning towards seels down there Because that’s where the boat has been serviced through its life.

Hier’s in New Ellention has always done a good job for me an at a reasonable cost.

Thanks all. I called Hier’s today and scheduled to take it in next Thursday. He sounded knowledgable and pretty busy.

David, I’ll try calling Dowd to see what he has to say on schedule and cost. May just be really difficult to get it to him depending on his hours and my schedule.

I grew up in Aiken and the few times I was in a pinch, Hiers took care of me. Way more reputable than the other place in aiken…
