Meet and Fish - Saturday July 20th

Well, we got rained out last time…anyone up for trying again this Saturday?

High tide will be early in the morning - want to do Folly Landing or pick another spot?

Let’s discuss…

I’m in. Anywhere is fine.

Folly is good.

Hopefully the water clarity improves. It’s been tough going lately. Doesn’t matter where. I’m in.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

I’m for Folly…earlier the better to ensure that there is parking for all.

Folly sounds good, me and elgeebee tried Sunday morning but the weather did not want us too  tides look good 12:10am -0.06L, 6:14am 5.27H 12:12pm -0.66L

Just a reminder. The ramp on the far right close to the bridge is great for kayaks and the boaters rarely, if ever, use it. I’ve heard that they do ticket for parking in a trailer spot w/o a trailer.

What time are we meeting?

Let’s shoot for 7:00 AM.

Dang, the 20th is my birthday so I have plans to take the boat out. Was hoping the July Meet & Fish would be Sunday. Oh well, hope everyone has a great time. Hope to make the next one!

How far is Folly from Georgetown?

I wish we could stick to Sundays its the only day of the week I have off  (what happened to our avatars… cant get my to reload?)

Well maybe we can consider when we do not do the first Saturday that the rescheduled date be a Sunday.

This might make everyone happy.

I’m in. I went out with JP on Sunday and had a great time even though we got dumped on by the sky.

Im in maybe. It sounds good. JP i may take you up on that ride offer from last time

Hunter, I’ll PM my number. It’s no problem.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

Sounds good JP. Tree_my_dog its roughly 2.5 hours… a little ways but its beautiful there, and some fish!

I am gonna have to miss it again. Bought my license, respooled my mono, and purchased some DOAs. Gotta get out soon. Thanks for the invite.Good luck Saturday! Chuck

Hey everyone, I’m in. New to the area (Military) and new to kayak fishing. I’ve driven to Folly Beach twice so I’m not sure if I know where we’re meeting. Is it obvious when I pass it? Coming from Mount P. Any suggestions on setup?-- cooler or stringer? bits of advice for line setup/lures?

Thanks in advance…see ya tomorrow.

ERIC HUMER

Eric, when you are coming down Folly road you will cross the first bridge, Crosby,s will be on your right. Great place to get bait. Then you will cross another bridge, the landing will be immediately on your right after the bridge.

If you string your fish along the side of your kayak other wildlife might decide to go after the easy meal. You definitely don’t want a dolphin or shark to capsize you. Unless of course your that type of thrill seeker.

I’m also new to kayak fishing and have only been out a couple of times. I’m a medically retired Marine from 2004 to 2006. I was exposed to a chemical that attacked my autonomic nervous system.
