Chicken Dinner headed out Memorial Day to find two CC’s and a 47 ft. sportfish turning around outside the rocks. Had some guys that really wanted to fish so we pushed out and found some nice rollers around 10 miles. Figured we might as well push it. Made it just shy of SW Banks and pulled in a few dolphin. Broke off a Taco outrigger on the way. Too wet for pics…
Anybody else stubborn enough to go Monday after hearing about boats turning around? Just curious.
We also saw boats turning around yesterday at the rocks. We pressed on out to EB little rough on the way out but we thought it got better as the day went on.
turning around in a 47 ftr?? wow, need a new captain. I went out memorial day and it was rough but not that rough, i am in the same size boat and we put it on 26kts and blasted those 6 ftrs coming out.
We went Monday, left IOP at 0430 broke dewees at 5 and rolled at 5200 rpms in a 33 grady to SW Banks. Nothing but nice rollers for us. Not dumb or stubborn. Ended the day with 15 nice dolphin. Saw plenty of 26-28 cc’s out there.
We went out as well and the mouth of the jetties were by far the roughest part.Don’t get me wrong,it was rough,but fishable.I was in a 25 foot cuddy and I didn’t consider turning around but a 47 foot sporty,c’mon now.
i had my girlfriend and some guys from back home with me and i could only laugh at you guys on the radio calling it a day before you made it out of the rocks…got 18 dolphin and several trash fish and got cut off a few times at the outcrop…it was nice to only see two boats all day there

“this year” just three unfortunately as work travel has kept me from going as much as I like to, or am used to.
But, FB, I don’t post on every single report making silly comments trying to come off as an expert. I was offshore with sea chaser memorial day and he is far from dumb or stubborn as you implied since he also didn’t turn around. You were not there so no need to comment on anybody’s decision.

Shevlin, only 2 from ya both within 8 days…sorry haven’t seen your name lately…Don’t remember the posts…I’ve posted twice I believe…Don’t think we would all be saying the same if these boats didn’t have such a safe trip…Generally if most boats turn around, it’s not the best of days…Also go back to the last 100 reports and see how many I posted on…I bet it’s not all of them:smiley:
