menahaden in folly river/ stono area

I have always gotten bait at Morris Island rocks and harbor looking for pelicans diving. I was wondering if anyone has been in/out of folly river and stono river near the inlet lately to know if menahaden have been stacked anywhere. In the past i have wasted a lot of time with no results looking for menahaden around there but hoping to get some in next few days. Let me know. Thanks!

Went out last weekend and didn’t see and menhaden. Did run into plenty of greenies and some other schools of bait about 13 miles out that were more than eager to grab the sabiki red bead the green not so much.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

When I’m in the folly or the Stono it seems I don’t find menhaden out in the open water. Head up in Robbins creek off of the Folly river or just inside of Green creek on the Stono side. That’s where I go for menhaden in that area.

thanks guys much appreciated

charles- whenever water is high, they’re consistently in 2 places: at the landing (esp between mariners and bridge in the middle of the channel), and at the turn to the narrows 1.5mi north of there. second option isn’t too great since you’re going stono. there are often schools of bigger ones in front of cole creek too.

if you’re out today, did you see any jellyballs before getting too far out?
