I’ve been trying to catch menhaden in the Bohicket and North Edisto for about a year now and I have had no luck. I catch plenty of shrimp and mullet but I can’t seem to find the menhaden. I know how to spot them and hear them popping but I haven’t seen any. Thanks for the help.

Haven’t fished there in years, so dont know just where menhaden are. Generally look for diving Pelicans to get in area, then watch for flipping. They should be plentiful now? Probably in the river, or off the beach. Sometimes can be off 2-3 miles.
But I would appreciate any tips on mullet, particularly larger ones. Hope to get down and try for a tarpon at Deveaux.

I fished out there for many years. If they were there it was usually up the river in the shallows on the left bank near where that sandy beach is in front of that observation tower.
Check along the bank of White Point on the incoming tide, they have been consistent there. I’ve also done really well in both Tom Point Creek and the Toogoodoo. I tore them up on the Toogoodoo two weeks ago. I’ll be out that way tomorrow so I’ll report back if they are still as thick as they have been.
Check the bank over by the sunken shrimp boats, Point of Pines side past South Creek. Usually they are there, if not they’re in or around the point of Privateer creek across the river.
A couple of weeks ago we had to venture out on the Frampton Inlet side of Deveaux to find them, in about 15 feet of water 200 yards off the beach.
