I’ve seen and netted menhaden at all times in the mornings. My question is, are they around all day or just in the mornings? If I went out to fish the afternoon-evening can I count on finding a net full or do they disappear later in the day?
I have found them all times of the day… thing is just finding them!

Certainly, when the water’s smooth early in the morning it’s easiest. Can see the flicks from a long ways away. I just didn’t know if they’re 100% around all day and it’s just harder to find them or not. I’m willing to take the time/ watch for birds/ ride around and find them, but didn’t want to waste time looking if they disappear in the middle or later in the day. Thanks for the reply, stump. Is his experience the same for the rest of you guys?
Nope they dry up after 10am and don’t rehydrate until some time during the night:smiley:
yes they are still there, probably in the same area you saw them in the morning but after the sun gets up they are deep. You need to be looking for them on you sonar and have a heavy net that sinks fast enough
