Menhaden Where?

I have not fished around Charleston in recent years, but hope to find some menhaden. Are they here yet? Where are good places to look, probably leaving out of Remley’s Point?

Thanks,
OM

check behind morris island, they are almost always there if you cant find em anywhere else
but creeks and rivers should have some around

can you swim 5 miles? “NO” then what is the difference in 5 miles and 50 miles!!! Go for it!

From Remleys your best bet is Morris Island. If you have enough time and want to stop before you go into the harbor you can go upriver a bit in the wando or cooper to just about any feeder creek and see them. Personally I’d head straight out and stop by Morris. Save time and Gas.

Sounds like they are in the same place as 15 years ago.
Thanks

Last weekend put in at Folly and cut behind Morris Island on the way to the Jetties. Didn’t see any menhaden. Saw a lot of boats looking for them though. So clearly they are not everywhere.

Tons of them at Breech inlet last weekend.

The past few days the bait has been in the waterway between the ben sawyer and iop connector. Haven’t seen much bait off the beach since the full moon. We were getting nice baits for awhile. Fished Mon and Tuesday and didn’t see any bait in front of or behind morris. Good luck
