I’ve always just used artificials, MMs, and shrimp - caught a net full off of JIYC this past weekend and just threw them on a Carolina Rig by old Mt P…had a lot of them bit in half w/ no hook ups but one. The one hook up was ridiculous - reel screaming for 100 yds or so, then popped the braid (I kept tightening the drag too much…oops).

Caught a 13" trout on 4" mehaden couple weeks ago. Seemed a little ambitious to me but got the whole thing in it’s mouth.

If you’re into freshwater fishing as well, catfish love menhaden especially the big blues.
