Haven’t been out so far this year and heading out this week. Have the schools of menhaden started to come in yet off of Morris island?

Yeah i saw some off folly Saturday afternoon. They stayed between 200 and 500yds off the beach. They were south in the morning toward the pier and moved toward the lighthouse by 3.
I saw some pelicans diving just outside the south jetty last weekend. I saw flits in the water of the menhaden tails. I didn’t bring my cast net because I thought it was too early in the year for them. I was trolling some Clark spoons in the area hoping for a bluefish or Spanish mackerel. Didn’t get any hits trolling (what you gonna do).
Menhaden were there though for sure.

Tons of peanuts in harbor and Ashley this morning, lots of terns working the silversides and anchovies too.
But if you’re heading out this week, you’re probably out now with the rest of us…
