Seels is certified and can do warranty work. I have a ETEC 60 and its been a great engine. 5 yr warranty! Great support. Service is minimal. Sips oil. Mines on a Lostmen. I also have a Yamaha 150 with over 2000 hours. They are all good if you take care of them.
hands down Pro XS!
I dont have a dog in this fight, but after reading about all the etecs blowing up I would be very leary. Good luck with whatever you choose.

If/when my Evinrude blows up, a 250 opti will be on the back. They are a tad noisier than a 4 stroke but the power and throttle response make up the difference to me. I grew up Merc so I am biased, but have always found them easy to work on and parts reasonably priced.
I have not experienced the 150 e-tec but a friend repowered a19’ with the 90 and it was not the turd I expected it to be. He had it set to run the xd100 oil and I swear I thought e had an oiling issue because after a day of running the oil level did not visually change.
On the subject of the xd100 oil, I have noticed what I can almost describe as a dramatic change in my Evinrude after about 3 gallons. Noticeably smoother idle (used to shake the boat idling and now just purrs), cleaner plugs, piston crowns clean and ports using a bore scope, -0- smoke even with the muffs on. I am not one of these oil junkies that likes to blow money on “fad oils” but I swear for direct injected Rudes the 45-50$ a gallon is worth it. I was using the 100% Pennzoil but it smoked a lot with it and I was getting a lot of carbon deposits.

I have a 200HP E-Tec and love it. Boat Shed in Georgetown is an authorized dealer. They also will re-fill your XD-100 gallon jugs out of their bulk barrel for a little under $40. It uses very little oil and I have left it on the TCW-3 setting which uses a bit more oil than if I had it changed to XD-100. Quiet and starts with0out hardly turning over.

Chris, there is a place in Florida that is set up to clean the injectors now. Probably the place you’re familiar with. Fuel Injector Man (Dale) in Naples, Florida.
