I always suggest running on the muffs
no reason to run premium fuel

I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com

i was under the impression that over 150hp that a hose didnt provide enough water?

I run muffs on my 225 and it seems to do fine, in fact I don’t open the spigot all the way and there is water flowing through the “gap” between muff and L/U making a huge puddle in my grass

Chris V, if he has the shallow water pick up in the lower unit won’t he need to cover those holes also while running on muffs.

a friend who works at an un named boat shop told me that. it seemed unreasonable but i figured he knew more than me from working there, he said they always used a big tub so the engines could suck all the water they needed…maybe a yamaha thing idk, anyway thanks for the help ill just use the muffs
