Was flushing the motor with the intentions of pumping out the rest of the fuel after completion but time was not on my side. Just dropped another fuel pump in it this year and hope I didn’t just burn it up. Guy that usually does my engine work is not pressed for time so looking for any good recommendations on who to call. Do not recommend Duncan’s to me. Thanks in advance
Chris Verburg Charleston Marine, he works on all brands and your issue certainly doesn’t sound like it has to be handed by a “Mercury” dealer.
we will be happy to look at your motor, but have you checked the fuse for the fuel pump?

When I had a tech come to me and say we need an ECM I wanted proof. ECM’s are usually a techs go to if they can’t figure out a problem. You really don’t see a lot of ECM failures unless negligent Welding, wiring shorts, Lightning, or a factory run of bad ones. Ever go to a dealer and they tell you your ECM is bad go for it if it’s under warranty. 
Fred my ecm has given me trouble 2 years ago and finally kicked the can now. I am on top of it and trust my guy with every diagnosis. Thankfully I found the super-super-super-superseded part number to get back on the water.
