2004 Mercury 60 2 stroke.
I replaced the water pump and afterward the motor does not like to shift. Difficult into forward and hard into reverse.
A little research is that I might have moved the shift shaft alignment?
How to diagnose and correct?

OK, anyone know a independent Mechanic who might help with this?
Go over to Boulder bluff and look for the mail box that is made from an old mercury outboard,I think it’s a tower of power.haha The guys name is Wes,he can fix anything, I lost his number.Maybe someone on here has it?
Near school?
Not by school,one of my boys said first right on Blossom st.Hopefully he’s still there,still can’t find the number, I know my old lady threw it away on one of her cleaning sprees.Dam people always wanting to throw away my stuff.
Sadly, he no longer repairs. /Was not on Blossom. I asked mailman where. His father told me he had stopped.
Anyone know some one??
</font id=“Arial Black][navy]SURELY there are Non-dealer people who know outboards???[/navy”>

Hey doc,that was pretty smart to ask the mailman. I knew Pea would come to the rescue with some mechanics,he’s a good fella. I’m gonna try to be like the oyster king of Jim island and get some choice singles today.Prolly give y’all a growl tonight. I don’t have a problem using my cell phone with this site,EF has really done a great job getting everything rolling again.
Forgot about Whitons.
I got with Mark of Quickie Marine off Folly Rd.
