2004 Mercury 60 2 stroke, 3 cylinder
Just stopped taking gas. Stuck at idle.
I replaced the fuel line from the tank, rebuilt the fuel pump, and replaced the fuel filter just after the pump.
Still stuck at idle. Worked fine several days ago.

Did you check linkages
Yes. Seems normal.
Look inside the carburetors and make sure to butterflies moving
You hit it…
I have no idea how it happened, but the link from the throttle bell crank came off. Seems impossible as it has a keeper on it.
My son was out in it at speed and the motor suddenly went to idle.
Oh well, in the process I rebuild the fuel pump, new fuel line with prime bulb, new plugs, and new filter. Such fun!
Hence check linkages
Buy a set of oars. You have a lot of trouble with marine propulsion.
You said the right words( my son) my daddy went thru it and I went thru it. its time for the grads!
