Mercury 60 vst overflowing?

I have a 2013 mercury 60 bigfoot. After a few hour trip I smelled gas at idle in a no wake zone.seems gas came from the vst area. Is it possible it has a float that stuck? Should I dismantle or give a heavy dose of sea foam on garden hose first? Any thoughts?

take apart and clean is where you are probably going to end up, but a seafoam treatment isnt going to hurt

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

Thanks Chris I’ll do this weekend

2 long soaks of heavy sea foam mixture didn’t fix the problem so I will pull it off tonight. But I did go from 5100 to 5300 rpm so that’s good news.seems like only drops when motor is hot and low rpm

Intermittent problems drive me crazy put on muffs an hour no overflowing. Put in water and still working fine…Go seafoam!!
