I recently purchased a new 21 ft sea pro w/ a 150 Mercury Verado.The boat will only run about 38 mph at full throttle.The boat does have a t-top and I understand that produces drag.The prop is a 15,I was wondering is there any real advantage to going up without risking damage.I’m looking for top end speed.Thanks

What are your max RPMs? Do you have a Mirage Plus prop? My pitch is an 18. I have the same motor and a 19’ Sea Pro boat and boat would top out at 45mph (6200 RPM) with full tank of gas.
Just got off a 21’ sea pro with same engine. 3 guys, full tank, 45 mph.

I had a 21 Sea Pro Bay boat with a 225 Verado. wasn’t impressed with the speed. I think the hull design has something to do with it> LOVED the engine though.
