... Mermaid Sighting at Pigen point

O.K=O.K maybe not a Mermaid but I dont know what it was. Hopefully some one can tell me what it was.
So its just a little after dark. We set out poles in the mud and set out the bait. As we were letting the bait soak we saw a fish of some type break the surface with an arched back. Like a dolphin would. It had scales but it was smaller. Like 30" to 45". Never saw its head, each time we saw it from a distance like 100 feet or better away. it was "round ish " It kinda put me in mind of a Garfish from north Georgia? Is the Garfish in Beaufort?
Any input here?

I’ve seen quite a few gar rolling in the creeks in Charleston, drives me crazy for a few minutes until I see what they are. The Kracken although is not out of the question either…

Are tarpon still around? Thats what the description sounds like but I thought they had moved on by now. Id say its a gar if not a tarpon
