Merry Christmas to all…
Thought I would share this from David at Driftmaster, It was his Facebook status:
Twas the day before Christmas and all through the water,
Not a creature was stirring, not even an otter.
The minnows were all nestled snug in thick cover,
While visions of micro plankton danced like no other.
When up on the surface there arose such a splash,
And then yelling and cussing and talking of trash.
All the fish swam aside as it sunk to the mud,
A brand new rod and reel came down with a thud.
Stomping his foot and using words I can?t tell,
To the bottom his broken rod holder went as well.
If I had just gotten Driftmaster, Oh the joy I would feel,
I wouldn?t need Santa to bring me a rod and a reel.
Merry Christmas everybody!</font id=“size5”></font id=“size6”>

'Tis time to revive Mr. Ed’s “Night Before Christmas”…</font id=“size3”>
Twas The Night Before Christmas</font id=“size5”></font id=“size6”></font id=“red”>
(unofficial striped bass angler version…
with humble apologies to author
Major Henry Livingston Jr. (1748-1828)
Twas the night before the “toonament”
and all through the lake
Not a line in the water
Not even a cut bait
The stripers were all snuggled
in the channel down deep
They were hoping that Lee Thomas
would somehow oversleep
Me in my foulweather gear
and Waylon in his carharts
had just returned to the motel
from a trip to WalMart’s
When out in the parking lot
there arose such a ruckus
we sprang from our beds
to see what the fuss wuz
Waylon flew to the door
in his long underwear
to see if the Abdominal Snowman
was somewhere out there
The moon was shining bright
on the cars and boats below
but we knew that the forecast
was calling for snow
Then what to our wondering
eyes should appear
but a big ole bait boat
with a driver in rain gear
He was covered with herring scales
from his head to his boot
and his big diesel truck
was blowing out soot
He had dark hair
and little biddy sideburns
and we knew in a minute
that it had to be David Clyburn
He said not a word
but went straight to his work
he filled all the bait tanks
then turned with a jerk
He climbed in his truck
and gave the horn a toot
He yelled 'yall better get stirring
if you give a hoot
About that time
the alarm began to scream
We awoke and discovered
it was only a dream
But that morning as the ramp
faded out of sight
I swear I heard David exclaim
