Metal Cleaners

What is the best way to bring back shine on aluminum brightwork and stainless/chrome rod holders? I have tried Mr. Metal with not much success have also tried silver polish.

Magic wadding polish, comes in a blue tin, has cotton soaked in some sort of cleaner chemical, been using it for over 20 years, works great. Just be careful with the aluminum if you use a cleaner with any grit in it, it can remove the andozided layer

I use Eagle One Never Dull which is the same type of cleaner RussB is talking about. After I wipe the Never Dull off, I put a coating of Woody Wax on it, let it sit for about 30 minutes and buff off. Looks good as new.

You don’t have to buff or polish. Whipe on with a sock or something. Let it sit for a few minutes and then whipe again. What normally takes buffing just whipes off. It doesn’t hurt anodizing or any powdercoating and can get on fiberglass no problem. Actually put it on the deck to protect the non-skid.

Put it on your metalwork and you will see. You will want to use it on everything! Stays looking like new for a good while. Made all my anodized alumn and stainless look brand new in well under 30 minutes of work and no buffing or polishing. Water spots don’t develop now, and stuff rinses right off- bugs, blood, salt…
It will be slick at first, but after a few rinses it will feel like brand new stuff with nothing on it. Water will bead and it’ll be shining like new. It won’t work miracles for badly pitted stuff or anything, but it does stop the corrossion and turn chalky/powdery stuff into acceptable. As far as regular soap and water staining and dullness on leaning posts, T top frames, rod holders, etc.- it will make it all look new again and protect it.
Wish someone had told me about the stuff sooner. Will keep your outriggers and rods and reels like new also…

I have put it everywhere on my rig, and I am not even half way thru the first bottle I ever bought. A little goes a long way.
