Mi Amante 5.29 @ 226/ Ed Banks

Left early at 330 from the Dock and headed towards 226 /Edisto Banks. Put the new night vision camera to test. Full moon helped the camera but it looked like daylight and helped us run around 30 on the way out with a clear view of the sea…

Had a great crew, first time we all fished together and did well as a team. Had a couple mid-westerners on the baot…Love to show new folks blue-water. first knock down came, and it quickly became a double…both good size phins made it into the box.

Got a small atlantic dolhin show… Trolled around for a while giving the guys a tour of the ocean, using the radar and xm weather to move around the rain.

Picked up and dodged a storm then redeployed the 7 line spread, we were awarded with another decent size cow in the box. Decided to move inshore a bit and do some bottom fishing, not a lot of luck there as we did not bring the squid nor find all the jigs on the boat.

Headed into the Charleston 60, a couple of jigs later " fish on". Brought a nice cobia to the boat when just outside of the reach of the long gaf, a nice release was provided by the snapping sound of the braid popping.

headed to the hill around 30mph with exception of the last few miles in the 20’s thanks to the wind change…

three in the box, 4 short bites ( will rig some short wire trebble stingers for the next trip) with all back safe early…

Safe at home and thank full that the electronics paid for themselves once again… Night vision camera/ HD Radar/ XM weather, I say thank you…

Thanks guys …can’t wait to fish with this team again.

Great job on showing those midwesterners a good time! I’ve got some buddies in Illinois and I can’t get them to go out. When you mention 60-70 miles off shore, they say “No Thanks!”

What unit do you have the XM weather hooked up to? I’ve got a Raymarine A65, but it’s not compatible with the weather receiver.

Cape Horn 24OS
