Middle Ground - Charleston Harbor

Has anyone ever paddled out to the Middle Ground / Charleston Harbor
Lots of sharks there + Fun
Have to plan around very early morning and be there right at low tide to catch first of the incoming

Castle Pinckney area? Been around Crab Bank but no farther out than that. Always worried about the yahoos running me over.

I’ve fished out around Castle Pinckney a few times in the kayak…crossing the shipping channel is the toughest part - especially on the weekends with all the rec boat traffic.

If 5+ kayaks were game for next Saturday Middle Ground Trip
7:30am low - Depart Remleys Point launch 6am ? ride last of outgoing tide- fish bridge area on way out- Middle ground 7:30 leave Middle ground 9:30 or 10- High Tide 2PM 7ft extra high on way back in
Wind has to be less than 10mph ?
This will normally beat Rec boat traffic and afternoon Thunder showers
I would take my Pontoon as safety boat ? anyone in trouble or I could tow some kayaks back in if needed

I’ve been out there before, just sailing. I would like to go on Sunday maybe. I have to work Saturday.

Hey, I might be up for that trip. My grandson is here for just one more week and he really wants to catch a shark before going home. I’ll follow the thread to see how your plan comes together.
