Did they go out of business? I have a similar version that works fine up to about 50 feet of water. After that it sucks trying to set it in 100 feet plus. Yes, i have 15 feet of 5/16 chain as well.
They are still in business. I couldn’t find one local so I ordered one on line at wholesalemarine.com . Cost me around $80.00 with shipping. Works great. Haven’t been chain tangled yet. The one thing I think I might do with mine is bend the hooks out just a bit. Last time out it took me a good 15 minutes to get it unstuck.
