My 05 boat has mildew all over the seats. No cleaner known to man will even touch it. I was wondering if any of y’all have ever tried vinyl spray paint before on seats? I see where it can be ordered at Home Depot. I just really don’t want to pay to have them re upholstered yet. Any feed back would be great.
FlewByU - I have an older 1998 Sea Pro and have fought mildew on leaning post seat and back rest cushions for almost 10 years. Tried Clorox Bleach Gel Cleaner in spray bottle. Took several applications but totally cleaned and bright white. I did wash and scrub these cushions with soap and water after to remove the bleach residue. Worth a try for under $5.00. Good luck!

Thanks TB. I’ve tried every cleaner West Marine has but I’ll give that a shot.
Bar keeper’s friend has worked on our cushions for getting rid of the mildew. We also have learned that it’s a lot easier in the long run to remove the cushions and bring them inside after each use, cleaning them before bringing them in. The cushions no longer get mildew on them.
^^^^ what traebaum recommended really worked… tried it today and WOW ,its white again !!!^^^^

Cleaners remove the protective layer built into vinyl. Now that it’s clean, protect them.
303 (30306) Marine UV Protectant Spray for Vinyl
Thanks for the input!
I use Lysol Mold & Mildew in the purple bottle. That stuff works wonders on boat vinyl. After getting vinyl clean, make sure to spray/protect with something. I typically use 303 Aerospace after.

Same issue with my last one. Unloaded the arsenal of cleaners on it. Nothing worked. Until I opened up a bottle of acetone. Used it controlled. Not sprayed. Came out brand spanking new looking. Thoroughly washed, dried and used a vynil conditioner and sealant after. 18 months strong and no issues.
LA Awesome at the General Dollar, took care of the mildew on my seats. Cheap and effective.

Mold Armour- sold at Slowes and Wallyworld, house wash or small bottles work just as good…best stuff ever tried…not the best for seams and threads but will clean it for sure…
might take 1-2 coats, it has bleach, so apply in the sun in the warm part of the day for best results…
Cheap as well!
