I posted this in the events section a while back, but it doesn’t seem to get much traffic in that forum.
MAD Charleston 2019 is October 12 this year.
Small change in that this year the cookout and giveaways part will be held at Freehouse Brewery in North Charleston.
If you haven’t heard of our event, we pair volunteer boaters with active duty service members for a day of fishing. We’ll have a cookout and live band following the event. The event is entirely volunteer run and everything is donated. It’s not a tournament and there are no fees for entry.
For those that have fished with us before, we hope to see you registering to come back again this year!
Yes, it’s possible, if they are signed up. I’m going to start the assignments on Monday. Do you have their names still? Message them to me if you do. Otherwise I might be able to dig it out of last years stuff somehow.
It is highly recommended by us to fish inshore, as you have no idea what experience level you are getting. It’s just as possible to get a troop who has never seen the ocean as it is to get one that fishes every day off they get.
If you still need a boat? I would be glad to jump in. I have zero experience fishing Charleston area. I would come down Thursday afternoon and try to do a little scouting. And I imagine some of the volunteer captains would share some local knowledge. I would hate to think somebody was looking forward to a fishing trip and missed out.
