I am looking to buy a 3/8 cordless impact soon. I have been getting prices from everyone (matco, snap-on, cornwell, Makita, etc) and the prices vary from 680$-249$ Normally I would not hesitate to get a Matco or Snap-on unit but I do not plan on using it daily and at 650+, that’s a chunk.
I have a friend with the Makita 18v and when dropped the plastic lock tabs on the batteries broke, so I want to stay away from it.
The Milwaukee comes with 2.0ah batteries or upgrade to 4.0 for an extra 100$. 5 year warranty on the impact itself. I have an old Milwaukee 1/2in drill that will rip your arms off if it snags. It’s a true beast from back in the day. I am actually scared of it. Does the new stuff hold up? I like the compactness of the 2.0 batts but will there be a big difference in torque output? Specs show the same on the 3/8 gun, just a longer run time.
Does anyone have good or bad input on the new Milwaukee cordless tools?
We use just about every rechargeable battery tool available at work. Everything from drills impacts, sawzalls lights, you name it, we use em. The Milwaukee ones are right up there with the best. I just ordered two new 1/2" drills and a 3/8" and 1/2" impacts. They are good tools.

Do you think its worth the extra money for the bigger batteries? Impacts are not continuous duty so battery life is usually pretty good anyway.
It depends on how much you are going to use them. If you are using it all day, then the bigger batteries are a good idea. If you use them every so often, then probably not.
