Getting these flood tides only 5-6 days a month aint cuttin it for me. My fly rod is lonely and needs to be exposed to more salt air.
What are the thoughts on the minimal tide needed to have fish in the grass? Obviously some flats will only flood on a true flood tide but there have got to be a lot of others that hold fish and can be productive at much lower than 6?

Depends on the flat… some flats flood every tide no matter and others you need more water then other days… the only way to figure it out is put in the time on the flat you want to fish and see what tide height floods it enough for fishing… I know some flats that flood on a 4.5 or higher and others that I won;t even look at unless it is 5.9 or higher…
