has anyone have the new iPilot. I have the Autopilot verson. I’m thinking of up grading but I unsure if it worth $400.
Thanks

It’s worth it. I would have never dreamed that it would work so good but it does. I can fish all day (7-8 hours), use spot lock for HOURS to hold me in place even in stiff wind and current. The remote is much more substantial and also has an LCD screen to tell you whether the prop is engaged, what speed it’s on, etc. Very nice product.

I got one a couple weeks ago. Its pretty sporty. The bottom lock feature is great.
Thanks for the replys. How tight does it keep you on the spot? on the website it states it tryd to keep you in a 5 foot radius from the spot you locked. I know with wind gust and current changes how on spot does it hold you?
been fishing with a buddy who has iPilot for the last few weeks and it has me ready to switch from motorguide. it’s pretty amazing.

yes, it will do that even in very stiff wind and current. Just get your nose into the current (or wind) just as you would when anchoring and hit spot lock. It will creep back and forth about 5 feet (or less)but will stay locked. You can fish a dock for hours if you want to. If the wind is calm and/or the tide is slack it will just about hold you like you were anchored and it does this just about silently. The last time I used it it was pretty windy and we used spot lock for about 4 hours and before that bumped around casting artificials and at the end of the day the battery indicator still said I had 50% charge. It is the best accessory I have ever bought for my boat.

You using that on the Triton you have in your sig? If yes, which motor? I’m guessing the 36 Volt Model.

80 lb 24 volt motor (Riptide ST). Was worried it wouldn’t be enough based on other opinions but performance/battery life is fantastic.

Thanks for the info. I keep looking but get scared by the price of the 36 Volt motor and 3 batteries…gulp. If the 80 lb will work, maybe I can swing it.
what boat do you have?

I have the 36 volt 101lb thurst version. It pulls the boat great except for 20mph wind gust today.

I have a 21’ 8" Ranger Bay boat. It’s heavy. I may still wait till I can afford the 36Volt setup.
bigger is usually better but I don’t think you really need it. My Triton is 2300 lbs dry and 20 knot wind gusts are not a problem. That being said, I’m sure the 36 volt is even better.

I have a Sea Hunt 202 that has high sides for taking offshore waves. It really catches the wind. It’s hard on my trolling motor if I’m going against both the wind and current. The 80lb should be good if your boat has a low profile above the water.
I can see needing that on your boat. My boat definitely doesn’t have high sides and as you mentioned that makes a huge difference.
