Yesterday while releasing a fish, I submerged my Minn Kota Remote. I thought it was water proof, but immediately started giving me problems then stopped working.
Are the remote watches water proof? Is mine now trash?

probably the salt more than the water. I would spray it down with electronics cleaner and let it dry out. After you take it apart of course.

I would call it water resistant. I had mine mounted on the rod via the bracket that they don’t offer anymore. My thumb deposited water on it while in use. I also dunked it the few times I wore the unit on my wrist. In the end, it started failing. I would take it apart anc clean the contacts and it would work again for a trip or two. Although the remote stearing and throttle are like sliced bread, I eventually went back to a tiller. Between the remote failing and the flat bearing failing, the motor was letting me down a lot. If I was a guide or sponsored by the manufacturer, I would still have one.
